We’re pleased to share another completed project, this time an apartment conversion in Dungannon, where careful consideration was needed to balance modern comfort with historic character.
As part of this project, we installed 15 secondary glazing frames within a historic building while retaining the original timber sliding sash windows. Preserving these original features was essential to maintaining the character and appearance of the property, and our secondary glazing was designed to replicate the existing windows as closely as possible.
The addition of secondary glazing has made a significant difference to the living environment inside the apartments. Located on a busy street, the building was affected by road noise, which has now been greatly reduced. The original timber frames were also prone to draughts, but these are now effectively sealed, helping to improve heat retention and overall comfort.
As a result, the apartments are now warmer, quieter, and more secure, while still retaining the charm and architectural integrity of the original building. These newly converted apartments will provide a comfortable and welcoming living space for their new residents.
